Interlude 1: Solilique on a new beginning

As some of you may have noticed… it’s been a while since I last entried. So what have I been doing this whole time? you may ask. Here’s your long-awaited answer!

To begin with, I came home from California in early June. This was an exciting whirlwind less-than-a-week trip across the US. To begin with the greatest roadtrippers ever Aliza and James and I drove up to Glacier where we camped in the camp ground and hiked on the mountians and swam skantly clad in the friggid waterfalls. It was amazing. After dropping James in Salt Lake City, Aliza and I drove basically for 30some hours straight (we slept about 4 hours in the car) all the way to Chicago, then Columbus. From there I made my way north, infringing on and generally using as many as my friends as possible. Big appreciative shout out to Nick, Leana, Kimmie, Nately, Allie, Melissa, Sarah Chapman, Jenny Sherwood, and for sure Adele! So I finally arrived at home.

Now arriving home after so long gone is a strange thing. I may wax poetic a bit here, so hold on tight. Or I might be crazy. Bear with me. So last time I was home, after Venezuela on my way to Cali, I had this strange feeling that I was a baby, or that I was born again. Like all the previous time I had been becoming, and then I had shed my skin, metamorphasized so to speak, and I was beginning to tackle problems, to face obstacles as a whole new, unprepared, unprotected, maybe unjaded being. That was how I left for California. Well, to be sure, good ol SoCal tried and tested me, corrupted me, maybe broke me…. welcome to the hotel california such a lovely place. Not to say I didn’t have fun or good experiences out there or meet cool people or anything. Anyways. So I have returned home to, well, lick my wounds, regrow skin and armour, build myself back up and remember my roots.
