Castlerigg Stone Circle
Just east of Keswick is Castlerigg Stone Circle, kind of the Stonehenge of the north. The stones are much much smaller, but the setting is more spectacular with the surrounding mountains, and it is less congested without a highway nearby, and free to enter. When we were there the morning sun through the haze completed the atmosphere.
